Orchard is a 100% skateboarder owned and operated shop that has supported the local skate scene since it’s inception. In February of 2006 lifelong skateboarders Broderick Gumpright and Jonathan Devoe first opened the doors for business in Mission Hill. In 2008 Matt Bagley and Armin Bachman were invited to join the party as co-owners. Over the past few years the shop has grown by leaps and bounds but remains dedicated to the Greater Boston skateboard community. We put on video premieres, host art shows and bring the scene together with our skate jams, contests and other skate events.
In 2010 we outgrew our original shop and moved to the neighborhood of Allston where we were able to build our flagship store complete with a free ramp on the main level and a dedicated art gallery on the second floor.
In September of 2013 we opened our second location on Newbury Street in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, and in the fall of 2015 we moved the Newbury shop to the North End to be next to the brand new Lynch Family Skatepark!
We proudly support our shop team of skateboarders that represents several generations of Boston skaters. We reached a big milestone in 2009 when we put out a video featuring our team called “Out of Body Experience” and we followed up with “Stone Soup” our second full length video released on Thrasher in 2014. Stay tuned for more new team video projects coming in 2016!
We are grateful for the many years of support from the community and look forward to serving the skateboarders of Boston in the future!
